Obituary of Theo Lynn Peterson

Theo Lynn (Peterson Peterson) Peterson, 81, of Brooklyn Center passed away peacefully, at her home on May 1st, 2024. She was born on September 12, 1942 in Hibbing, Minnesota to parents, John Ivar and Genevieve (Lindstrom) Peterson. Theo grew up in Northern Minnesota on the Iron Range. She was a 1960 graduate of Virginia High School. She married Mark Peterson in 1964, and became parents to two children, Robyn Lindseth and Derek Peterson. While she lived in various Northern Minnesota cities, Theo primarily resided in Eveleth. She married Lawrence Peterson on March 1st, 1980, acquiring three step-children, Boyd, Scott, and Todd Peterson. (more Petersons!) Theo worked for East Range Clinic for 15+ years. After moving to Brooklyn Center in 1984, She worked for Hartford Life Insurance for 24 years. After retirement, Theo and Larry explored the world and visited 29 foreign countries and all 50 states. Theo enjoyed raising her family, and traveling to see them as they got older and the family grew. She is proud to have met each Grandchild, wherever they were around the country, within a few days of birth. She strived to attend their Birthdays and other important holidays and events. She was a loyal follower of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. She enjoyed watching the Vikings on Sunday afternoons each fall. And she once took Derek out of school to celebrate the 1987 Minnesota Twins World Series Victory. Theo loved playing cards and board games with her family and friends. Playing ShangHai was one of her favorite games. She always had time to teach friends, her children, and grandchildren the game. But she never let up on her competitive spirit, so she had no problem defeating them, during the learning process. During retirement, Larry and Theo purchased a second home in Mesa, Arizona. She enjoyed spending her winter months in Arizona, and developing relationships with fellow Midwestern Snowbirds. Theo is preceded in death by her parents, John and Genevieve Peterson, and her brother, Bruce. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry Peterson; children, Robyn (Jamie) Lindseth, Derek Peterson, Boyd (Leslie) Peterson, Scott (Robin) Peterson, and Todd (Kris) Peterson; grandchildren, Zachary and Julia Lindseth, Madison and Kaila Peterson, Shania (Chase) Lind, Marissa (Shayne) Ballew, Haley and Steven Peterson, Taylor, Spencer, Quinn, and Chace Tolkinen, Riley and McKenna Peterson; great-grandchildren (Adrian Ballew, Brody and Braxton Lind); and many extended family and friends.
