Obituary of Ruth Spindler

Born January 4, 1929, died May 9, 2016. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Gordon E. Spindler and her son, Neil. Ruth is survived by her 13 remaining children: Sara Gilberg (Garry), Mark (Karen), Glen (Joan), Lael Beamish, Todd, Jan Voges (Dave), Laura VanLandschoot (Allen), Nora Lee (Tim), Tina Thornton (Ken), Chris, Timm (Helen), Amy McKenzie (John), Kay Gladis, 30 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, her sister Anne Swanson (Clarence), Bob Marshall, nieces and nephews. Born in Faribault, Minnesota to Laura and Charles Glynn, Ruth was a consummate mother and lover of the natural world. She raised her substantial family with unending patience, kindness and humor. Ruth was a lifelong gardener and excellent cook. She was ahead of her time, growing healthy food and tending an organic garden. A memorial service will be held at 10am on June 5th at Cremation Society of Minnesota St. Paul Chapel, 1979 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul, MN 55119, 651-789-0404. Visitation 9am.
