David George Karter

Age 82, Long time Gordon, WI resident and Superior High graduate class of 1960, passed away April 18, 2024, in Wilmington, NC surrounded by loved ones. Dave was known as “Bumpa” by close loved ones, including his loving wife of 61 years, Rosemary (Marrs) Karter and 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 4 wives of grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 nephews.

 He spent most of his life enjoying the serenity of living on Bass Lake in Gordon, WI. He had many hobbies, including spending time with his family, woodworking, fishing, watching boxing/UFC, wrestling, and reading. He loved music and we often heard him whistling his favorite tunes. He enjoyed a good BS session and everywhere he went he enjoyed chatting with people.  He loved his dogs. He cherished over 17 of them during his lifetime.

He moved to Wilmington in 2015, loving warmer weather and being able to wear shorts every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex, and Lila (Dahl) and 2 brothers.
