Obituary of Muriel K Fitch
Muriel K Fitch 1926-2024 Muriel Fitch, age 97, of Lino Lakes passed away at Arbor Lane Memory Care on March 21, 2024. She was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1926. She was a hard-working entrepreneur most of her adult life. She started as a cashier at the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Minneapolis while she was still in High School. After marriage, she worked side by side with her husband Ernie to build their house while also raising mink. When 35W came through Lino Lakes, they had to relocate or get out of the mink ranch business. They did not want to move out of their home so they found a new career as owner operators of a Dairy Queen. Muriel not only worked in the Dairy Queen, but washed all the towels and uniforms as well as balancing out the money drawer each night. Her work at the Federal Reserve sure came in handy for that. Amazingly, she somehow found time for a vegetable garden and flower beds. She loved flowers and took some to work at the DQ so she could share their beauty with the customers. Muriel was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ernest Fitch, her brothers Frank and Robert, her son-in-law Alan, and daughter-in-law Judy. Muriel is survived by her sons Steven Fitch and Donald (Cindi) Fitch, daughter Janice Lonneman (Bob Mathews), 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
