Obituary of William Clifford Bright

William Clifford Bright, 76, of Shakopee, MN passed away on Monday March 18, 2024 in his home surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was born November 17th, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN to Clayton and Elvina (Vi) Bright. He graduated Richfield high school and went on to join the US Air force Reserves as an aircraft mechanic. After the service he found himself at Control Data / Seagate technology developing computer components for a rewarding career of over 42 years. Learning from his father and grandfather, Bill grew up in the Bright tradition of using his hands and his mind to fix, build, and improve things.

In 1976 he married Barbara Busch. They raised two sons, Steve and Bob. Together they built and remodeled four homes. In 2011, he became a grandfather, and again in 2013. Two little girls changed him forever and brought the most amazing twinkle to his eyes. He loved and adored them more than anything in the world.

Bill had a great affinity for woodworking. He designed and made many lovely pieces of furniture from tables and cabinets to toy boxes. Bills true passion was his motorcycles. He felt there was nothing better than to be on the bike winding down his favorite road through Henderson and beyond. He traveled many thousands of miles across our country.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clayton and Vi Bright, and his infant sister Vickie.

He will be greatly missed by his sons Steven Bright, Bob (Rose) Bright. Granddaughters Abbigail and Bethany Bright. Former wife of 44 years, Barb Bright. Sister Penny (Jim) Throne. Brother Chris (Judi) Bright. Niece Kelly Throne, and nephew Corey Cushing. Special friend Diane Lehman, along with countless dear friends.

A Memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave South, Edina, MN 55435 on Thursday April 4th. 11:00 visitation, 12:00 memorial service with luncheon to follow.
