Obituary of Virginia (Ginny) Christine Penas (Austin)

Virginia (Ginny) Christine Penas (Austin) age 85, of Woodbury passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2024 surrounded by her children. She was born and raised in Madison, WI. She married her husband John Penas and they moved to Woodbury, MN. With a small stint in San Jose, CA, Woodbury was home where they raised their 4 children. She worked for Farmers Insurance in the claims department for many years where she had made many good friends and memories. She and John enjoyed their time together on the St. Croix River boating with friends, trips to the local casinos and traveling to the Caribbean.

Preceded in death by her husband John; son David; parents Tom and Adeline Austin; siblings Mildred (Jack) Randall; Duke (Jean) Austin and brother in law Roger DeYoung.

Virginia is survived by her loving family: children Greg (Candie) Penas, Tracie (Dave Roust) Green, Kristine (Chad) Christians; grandchildren Matt (Abby LeCroix) Green, Megan (Gabe) Hernandez, Sarah (Tyler) Jeffries, Zach (Kenzie) Christians, Alli Christians, Ben Christians; great grandchildren Ramona and Martin Hernandez; sister in law Judee DeYoung.

A special thank you to the staff at Southview Acres in West St. Paul for helping us care for her this last year and a half. We were happy to realize she meant so much to some of you.
