Obituary of Shelly Lea Olson Blohm

Shelly Lea (Olson) Blohm of Savage, MN, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born September 7, 1960 in Grand Rapids, MN, she earned her associates degree at Normandale Community College and her bachelors degree in accounting at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul. Always having a head for numbers and logic, she was a partner in an accounting firm, and became the CFO and office manager for a successful aluminum fabrication company that she and her husband established and owned for many years.

Shelly was strong and athletic, loved softball and was known for knocking the ball out of the park! She also had a gift for writing poetry, and recently discovered that she could draw quite well. Shelly loved her family very deeply. She will be remembered for her devotion to Jesus and the Catholic faith, her passion for all things Mazatlan, her warm and tender heart, beautiful smile, robust laugh, witty sense of humor, intellect, generosity, and kindness she showed toward all who knew her. Her heart, her voice, her presence, and her light will be deeply missed by us all.

Shelly is survived by her husband Rick Blohm, her daughter Brenna Ansari, grandsons Jacob and Lucas Ansari and their father Jason, stepson Travis Blohm, stepdaughter Heather Pope (Bryan), sister Sherri Faye, stepmother Barb Olson, half siblings Dan, David, and Shana, uncle Harvey "Tooker" Schultz, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Lea Olson, father Ole G. Olson, and brother Jeffrey F. Olson.
