Obituary of Kent Mehrkens

Kent L. Mehrkens, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024 in Stillwater, MN.

Kent was born to Arthur and Ardys Mehrkens on October 16, 1941 in Cambridge, MN.

Kent was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1961-1969. He was a Staff Sergeant with the 617th Military Airlift Support Squadron and stationed at DaNang Air Force Base from 1967-1968.

After Kent returned home, he was a Kirby vacuum salesman. He also excelled in various other positions in sales and management. 

Kent is survived by wife of 60 years, Sandra. Daughters, Jennifer and Sarah. Grandchildren, Deiven and Arlynne. Brothers Doug (Sally), Tom and sister Joy (David). Also, many other relatives and friends. 

Kent had a great sense of humor and wit. He loved to entertain people with his many jokes, puns and colorful style. He also had a great love for animals. 

Celebration of Life, Thursday May 2, 2024. 10am-noon. United Methodist Church of Peace. 6345 Xerxes Ave. S. Richfield, MN. Internment to follow at 1pm, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. 

Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Superhero attire or, bright uplifting colors. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to an animal shelter of your choice.
