Obituary of James Allen Lair
James Allen Lair, age 87, of Minneapolis and Palm Harbor, FL passed away peacefully at home on May 22nd. Preceded in death by parents Tom & Bertha Lair, brother Jesse, first wife Ann, and long-time companion Geri. Survived by children Chris (David) McDonald, Jaime (Bill) Jaunty, Jay (Gail) Lair, Leslie (Todd) Tevlin, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also remembered dearly by the Jaunty family. Jim grew up in Bricelyn, MN, attended Minneapolis Central High School, served in the Army during the Korean War, and retired from the Minneapolis Fire Department. For the past 25 years, Jim has spent his winters in Palm Harbor, FL and summers at the lake cabin in Emily, MN. Jim was known for his secret recipe ribs and enjoyed hosting rib feeds for his family and friends. On most days he could be found in his woodshop creating beautiful crafts and gifts for family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, June 9th from 5-8 pm in the Aspen Room at McColl Pond ELC in Savage (13550 Dakota Ave S). Private burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
