Obituary of Mary Frances Catlin
Mary Frances (Williamson) Catlin was 97, soon to be 98 years old on February 27th, when she passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2024 at Regions Hospital.She lived in a town home independently in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Mary was born in Murphysboro, Illinois in 1926. She had a grand marriage to John M. Catlin for 53 years before John passed in 1999. Mary held a position as secretary for the Dean of Women at Macalester College. She then held a prestigious position for 20 years as Executive Secretary for the Minnesota State Senate Council. Mom and Dad hosted Wassail parties every Christmas for the Senate Council.
Mary’s passions were family and friends. She was involved in her church, loved to travel and was an avid reader. Mary was loving, caring, and sensitive to everyone We celebrated everyone’s Birthdays at her Club House. Mary had Thanksgiving and Easter at Southview Country Club for our whole Family. She hosted Christmas Eve at her Townhome. She had fabulous neighbors. They planned lots of Townhome parties together. Lots of Great Memories! Everyone So Loved Mary!
Mary was preceded in death by parents Claude and Norma Williamson, husband John M. Catlin, son John Michael, daughter Nancy Ann, son-in-law W. Steven Robb, sister Doris Higgins and brother-in-law, James M. Catlin. She is survived by children William David Catlin and Karen Robb. Grandchildren Sean S. and Colin Robb, Melissa, Melinda, Bridget, and Sean P. Catlin. Great-Grandchildren Sean W., Tyler, Aidan, Jamison, Sullivan Robb, Jade, Reece, Walter, and Irelyn. Her dear nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service at Macalester Plymouth United Church in St. Paul on May 18th 2024 at 11:30.
A light luncheon following the service.
