Obituary of Jeanne M. Sommer

Jeanne M. Sommer (Johnson) passed away on Monday, June 11th. She was preceded in death by husband Jon B. Sommer; sons Mark and Craig and daughter Barbara. Jeanne is survived by sons Russell, Lawrence (Alice), Richard (Lori), daughter Patricia (Timothy); 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, and close friends Barbara & Steve Schuyler and family. Jeanne remained very close to her sister Barbara and special friend Clare. Jeanne was a loving caregiver who loved to care for her grandchildren and extended foster family, especially Debbie and Deanie. She and her husband enjoyed riding and were members of the local Goldwing Club. They also sang in the American Legion Choir. While living in Cottage Grove, MN, Jeanne held the title of St. Paul Winter Carnival Senior Queen. Family and friends will be honoring Jeanne's life on Saturday, June 30th at Mount of Olives Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m. Reception and graveside service to follow.
