James  "Jim" Gerou

Age 87, longtime resident of Columbia Heights, passed away February 23, 2024.

Preceded in death by parents, Signe and Forrest; wife, Renie; first wife, Donna; sister, Jackie.

Survived by brother, Joe (Kay); children, Linda (Dale) Hanson; Paul (Kim), Michael; stepchildren, Chris Moss, Dick Thompson, Dave (Lisa) Thompson; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Proudly served in the US Navy Reserves. He enjoyed working in his woodshop. He was a longtime member of the Columbia Heights Lions Club and Shriners. After retirement, Jim and Renie spent winters in Texas. They enjoyed traveling together for many years and hosting large family Christmas Eve gatherings.

We will miss his infectious laughter and silly jokes. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:30AM at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park with a visitation at 10:30AM and reception to follow. Memorial preferred to Alzheimer's Association alz.org
