(Terry) Hammond, Jennifer L. Stettner, Ellen M. (Daniel) Harbaugh, Donna R. (Steven) Viner, Matthew P. Wright. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Barb (Jerome)Geving, and brother-in-law Barry (Sue) Boardman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James D. and Joseph D. Wright, brothers-in-laws LaVerne Fischer and Charles Stettner, sister-in-law Christine Wright and his first partner Gerald Hanson.

Bob was a loving spouse, son, brother and friend. He was very witty and could find humor in almost every situation. He had a gift of “gab” and could and would talk to anyone. Bob was a hardworking person his whole life. As a young man he helped around the house mowing the lawn, cleaning, watching his siblings, taking care of his pet rabbits, and doing all his parents asked of him and more. His strong work ethic led him to his first job at a barber shop by the Stoddard Hotel at age 14. There he did cleaning of the shop and shoe shining. He worked there until about age 16. Then he worked at the Blue Moon in Onalaska as a bus-boy and dishwasher, before moving on to waiting tables and bartending. At about age 19, he moved to St. Paul Minnesota and worked at a Country Club as a bartender and waiter. He also worked at private homes as a bartender. He was a maintenance engineer at the Kellogg Square and lastly worked at West Publishing as a proof reader and photographer until his retirement in 2004.

Bob always helped his family when dad’s paycheck would not stretch to do what was needed. Many Christmases and birthdays were special because of Bob’s giving heart. He loved his family and made many visits to La Crosse to see them. Bob met Brian in 2000 and their friendship blossomed right away. They were meant to be together. They married Oct. 23,2021. Their love for each other, with the love of their families, and faith in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave them strength during Bob’s failing health. We know Jesus just welcomed one of the best in heaven and those who love him will never forget him.

His service will be on Saturday March 9th at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, 511 Groveland Ave, Minneapolis MN. The visitation will be from 10 to 11 with a service starting at 11:00. A luncheon will follow after the service. The service can be seen live by going to: haumc.org/live.
