Obituary of Donald Allen Wallin

Donald “Don” Allen Wallin
Kind and Caring Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Marine

Donald Allen Wallin, 83, died Tuesday February 20 at 11:50 PM at St Lukes hospice care, with his loving wife Jean at his side.

Don was born December 12, 1940 in Superior Wisconsin to Laura and Elmer Wallin. Don joined the Marines in 1958 and served proudly until his honorable discharge in 1965. Don loved spending time with his family and was known by all as a kind and generous man who was quick with a smile and made everyone feel welcomed.

Don also coached many youth sports (baseball, football, hockey) and was a Boy Scout and Cub scout leader in Superior during the 1975-1985 time frame. He loved sports of all kinds and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Don led the paint department at UWS for many years. He lived his life as a true marine, leading others and providing service to anyone who needed his help.

Don is survived by his wife Jean Wallin, their children Allan Wallin and his wife Anissa, Roland Wallin and Teresa McKillop. He has 6 Grandchildren (David, Jacob, Christina, Rebecca, Sophie and Averie) and 3 (soon to be 5) Great Grandchildren all of whom he loved very much and enjoyed teaching sports and playing with them. Also he is survived by his siblings Helen Kauppi and Duane Wallin. Don was blessed in life with many additional friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Don was proud of his time in the Marines. And even though the VA office could not find details of his service in their records to honor him properly, the family wants to recognize his service and remember him for the proud Marine he was. Semper Fidelis

Per Don’s request, there will be no services for his passing. Instead, please say a prayer for his family and hug those you love most.
