Obituary of Janice Laine

 

Janice Laine, 78, died February 14, 2024 due to complications from dementia.

 

She was born March 11, 1945 in Alborn, MN to Melvin and Gladys Truman.  She attended Albrook High School, graduating in May 1963 hoping to go on to be a teacher.

 

Janice was a long time employee of Hongisto's Implement in Cloquet.  She went back to get her college education in 1990.  She graduated with Honors from the Fon Du Lac Community College in 1995, holding an Associates and Bachelor Degrees in Arts.  She was also a member of the Thi Betta Kappa Society.  Janice became a Licensed Social Worker, starting her own business, mainly helping the elderly.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Lawrence Seline, first husband Kenneth Wickstrom, Sr., second husband Ernest Laine, sister Carol Strom and brother Robert Truman.

 

She is survived by her significant other, Dale Solem, daughter Candace Wickstrom and son Corey (Christell) Wickstrom.  Also by her Step-children Gerry (Wendy) Gustin, Kenneth (Kim) Wickstrom, Jr., Roxanne (Martin) Roach, and Dwight Wickstrom.

 

A small memorial is being held with immediate family Thursday, February 22, 2024.
