Obituary of Arvid G. Peterson

Arvid G. Peterson, 70, longtime resident of Duluth, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in the Solvay Hospice Center. He was born Sept. 21, 1945, in Albuquerque, N.M. to Arvid and Geraldine Peterson. Arvid was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and he retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Postal Clerk. Arvid liked gardening, poetry and traveling with his wife, Susan. He was an avid reader and enjoyed model trains. Arvid was preceded in death by his son, Erick; his parents; and his brother, Richard. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susan (Shafer) Peterson; children, Renee (Greg) Miller of Duluth, Kenneth (Jani) Burke of Mobile, Ala., Shane Peterson of Duluth and Melissa McKenna of Duluth; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many other relatives and friends.
