Obituary of Jonathan Alden Hogetvedt

Jonathan AldenHogetvedt, born 05/28/1955 in Robbinsdale, MN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on 01/24/2024, in St. Louis Park, MN.

Jon was a man of infinite knowledge, known as the encyclopedia man, possessing a kind and humble wisdom. In the days since his passing, countless family members and friends have stepped forward to express their gratitude for Jon’s calm demeanor and kind heart, and love of teaching others. He was a man of deep faith in Christ, and warmly shared that faith with those he loved. Survived by his wife, Mary; Children, David (Megan), and Erica (Joe) Sacco; grandsons Everett and Forrest, brothers; Charlie, George, and Doug, and sister; Debbie. He is preceded in death by his mother Nancy and father Arthur Hogetvedt. Jon has requested his ashes be brought to Holsbybrunn, Sweden. This place played a significant role in his spiritual journey. Those who knew him well know that he always longed to return. Family will help him in this final journey. A celebration of Jon’s life will be held at Maple Grove Covenant Church March 8th, 2024; 10:00 am visitation; Service 11:00. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Holsby Bible School in Sweden, Connect - Holsby or to family.
