Obituary of James Harvey Webb

James H. Webb, 92 of Duluth, MN passed on Monday, February 5, 2024 in the Franciscan Health Center.

 

Jim was born on May 20, 1931 in Duluth, MN to Burt and Anna Mae Webb. He attended Central High School and on October 20, 1949 entered the Armed Forces. He served four years in the Army and was honorably discharged on January 17, 1953.

 

Jim worked at Moland Brothers, and 29 years at Sears Roebuck and 10 years for The City of Duluth. Gary Doty, Mayor of Duluth, presented Jim with two plaques: one for employer of the month, and one for recognizing his ten-year service to the City of Duluth.

 

Jim played in a Ping Pong Tournament and took third place. He was a wiz at working jigsaw puzzles. What he loved the most was telling stories and making people laugh.

 

After living alone for 22 years Jim met and married Bernadette (Bernie) Johnson on April 23 2014. He loved telling the story how they met. He referred to Bernie as “his joy”! Jim and Bernie are members of Living Word church in Esko, Minnesota.

 

Jim’s children are: Susan Classen (Greg), Kim Roberts (Mac), Phillip Webb, Mark Webb (Dina) and JoAnna Webb.

 

Grandchildren: Wendy Neuerburg (Dirk), Shawn Rehbein (Meghn), Stephen Webb (Jackie), Dawn Webb, Josh Gornik, Elizabeth Gornik, Ben Gornik, Heather Kaisershot and five great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Burt and Anna Webb. Sister Jeanne Porslin and two grandchildren Christopher and Bernadette.

 

Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 9, 2024, 2:00 Visitation with a 3:00 Service with the Duluth Honor Guard at Cremation Society of MN, 4100 Grand Ave in Duluth.
