Obituary of Diane Lynn Kallsen

Diane Lynn Kallsen (Mourning), 68, of Grandy Minnesota, passed away on January 11th 2024 after succumbing to complications with congestive heart failure.

Diane was born on December 18, 1955 in Minneapolis Minnesota to Richard and Joan Mourning (Delano). She was one of six siblings. Diane is preceded in death by her beloved father, Richard.

Diane had admirable work ethic. After a rewarding career managing gas stations around the Twin Cities, she followed her life’s passion and moved to a small farm in east central Minnesota where she embarked on a new challenge and trained to work as a machinist, a career she both excelled in and took great pride in.

In times of good health Diane was an avid outdoorswoman. She especially enjoyed fishing, taking adventures with her children along the north shore of Lake Superior, and hiking along the Baptism River. Diane had a love of all wildlife, and took special enjoyment from her dogs.

Diane leaves behind her mother and best friend Joan Mourning, her three children, David Kallsen Jr (Amber Fiedler), Katelynn (Brian) Lothrop, and Matthew (Kayla) Kallsen, and her grandchildren Leah, Owen, Jack and Ian.

Diane’s children plan to have a service in the summer at Spring Lake Cemetery in Prior Lake Minnesota to lay their mother to rest.
