Obituary of Scott Ray Mead

Scott Ray Mead, 86, of Duluth, Minnesota passed away on January 31, 2024, at Essentia Health in Duluth after a brief illness.

Scott is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Eric (Raquel), Kurt (Betsey), and Corey (Kristin) and daughter Julie (Greg Strain), 9 grandchildren: Forest (Eva), Linnea, Delora, Elsa, Signe, Lily (Pawel), Yarrow (Jay), Brennan, and Shelby (Carson), his two sisters, Maxine Pihlaja and Geri Patlzaff, brothers-in-law Gale Patzlaff and Doug Swanson (Mary), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Julia and brother Glen.

Memorials in Scott’s name can be made to Peace Church, Damiano Center, and Chum Duluth, in lieu of flowers.

A memorial service will be at Peace United Church of Christ in Duluth MN on Friday Feb. 16 at 1:00PM. Feel free to wear western-style shirts or bandanas.
