Obituary of Ronald Harry Carlson

Ronald Harry Carlson, 90, of Farmington, MN passed away February 2, 2024 at Trinity Care Farmington.

Ronald was born May 8th, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Harry and Inez Carlson. He lived most of his childhood in Minneapolis, graduating from Robbinsdale High School in 1950. He attended the University of MN before entering the US Army from 1953-1955. He married Patricia Johnson December 5, 1953. They had four children, Eric, Christopher, Jennifer and Elizabeth. He spent most of his working career at Prudential Insurance before retiring in 1991. Ron and Pat camped, spending their winters in Panama City FL and summers in Minnesota. Pat died in 2004 and he continues traveling to Florida. On August 8th, 2008 Ron married Lynne Benson of Hastings, MN. They had fifteen years of traveling all over the continental US, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico and two trips to Europe. They spent twelve winters in South Texas. In 2020 they purchased a condo in Farmington and Ron spent his last four months at Trinity Healthcare in Farmington.

He was preceded in death by parents, wife, Patricia, brothers, Kenneth and Dennis, daughter, Elizabeth and infant son, Michael. He is survived by, wife, Lynne Benson, sister, Barbara Moen, children, Eric, Christopher and Jennifer, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Trinity Healthcare 905 Elm Street, Farmington, MN 55024. There will be no public memorial, he will be buried at the State Line Cemetery in Harmony, MN.
