Lynn Marie Syvertson

March 30th, 1958-January 22nd, 2024

Lynn was born on March 30th, 1958 to parents Donald and Darlene (Kluver) Syvertson in Alexandria, MN. She was the oldest of 3 children. She attended grade school in Forada and then graduated from American High School of Chicago. Later in life Lynn also continued her education at Alexandria Technical and Community College.

After graduation Lynn moved to the Willmar, MN area. During that time Lynn learned Spanish and traveled with friends to Mexico. Lynn moved to Glenwood, MN in the early 90's to help family in caring for her grandmother. Years later Lynn lived next door to her parents in order to offer them support and loving care needed as they aged. Lynn worked mostly as a caregiver to people in the community with various disabilities. She continued to work up to a few weeks before her death.

Lynn, along with her parents and sister Deborah, started studying the Bible when she was a young teenager. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 26th, 1974. Lynn volunteered in the ministry full time for many years. Her love for people moved her to tell others about Jehovah God. Lynn often spoke about the wonderful promises in the Bible that brought her comfort.

Lynn enjoyed showing hospitality and sharing meals with family and friends. She had a love for music and would often enjoy going to hear live music in the community. She worked hard caring for her home frequently doing various home projects and gardening with her parents. Lynn had a talent for cooking and preparing new dishes. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends throughout her life. Lynn was known for her loving and positive personality and good sense of humor. She showed tremendous strength, faith, and courage in facing a long illness.

Lynn is survived by her mother Darlene; sister Deborah Anderson; nephews Elliot (Courtney) Anderson and Chris Anderson; nieces Emily (Matthew) Johnson and Heather (Christian) Simpson; great-nephews Noah Johnson, Marcus West, Alexander Anderson, and Justin West; great-nieces Aurora Johnson, Cassaundra (Myles) Smith, and Gabrielle West; and great-great-nephew Harrison Smith. She is preceded in death by her father Donald Syvertson, sister Lori Syvertson, and brother-in-law Rolland Anderson.

A memorial service for Lynn will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 850 North Franklin St. in Glenwood, MN.

The family would like to thank Dr. Marion Raflores and the oncology team at Alomere Cancer Center along with Glacial Ridge Homecare and Hospice for their care and support.
