Deloris was born November 29, 1925 in Olivia, MN, to William C and Emma A. (Ohland) Thoenebe. She was one of three girls. She was raised in Beckyn, MN, and moved to Danube, MN, when she was in the 6th grade. She was baptized into the Lutheran Church in Olivia and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Danube. She attended a rural elementary school near Olivia and graduated from Danube High School in 1943. On December 3, 1943, Deloris married Allen L. Miller at Posen Township, Wood Lake, MN. They raised four children, Ernie, Joyce, Timothy and Terry. They farmed in Posen Township from 1947 to 1953 and then moved to Minneapolis, MN. In 1959, they moved to Chaska until 1965 when they moved to Mayer. In 1978, they returned to Chaska. She stayed in Chaska for the rest of her years.
Deloris was employed as a waitress for 15 years, working some of that time at the Green Lantern Café in Chaska and the American Legion in Chanhassen. She worked at Oak Terrace Nursing Home as the pharmacy assistant, and she worked for 16 years as a cashier and store clerk at the Jonathan General Store in Chaska.
God broke the mold when he made Deloris. She was the sweetest, kindest, most loving woman you could know. She supported you in anything and everything; good or bad. She loved spending time with her friends, and especially her family. To most, she was known as Grandma, no matter who you were. But she was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren. All of whom she loved dearly. When not visiting with family and friends, she enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to old school country music.
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen (1982); sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Edward Folkerts; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ray Ferguson; her son, Ernie Miller and son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Deborah Miller.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, JoAN Miller of Emily, MN; son, Terry Miller of Belle Plaine; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jimmy Lecy of Echo, MN; grandchildren, Rick Miller, Michelle (Miller) Kjelden, Nicole (Miller) Jorgensen, Clint Lecy, Jamie Lecy, Joey Lecy, Ben Lecy, Todd Miller and Tracy Miller and three generations of great-grandchildren.
