Obituary of James E Schultz, Sr.

James E. Schultz Sr., 79, of Two Harbors, MN passed away on January 15, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

James was born March 1, 1944 in Rice Lake, WI and grew up on a family farm outside Birchwood, WI. In November 1962, James joined the Air Force and was stationed on the island of Okinawa early during the Vietnam Conflict. After completing his overseas tour, James returned stateside and was assigned to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL, where he met his wife of more than 52 years, Shirley Kingore.

James and Shirley moved to the Two Harbors area in 1967 and spent the rest of their lives raising their family and enjoying hunting and fishing in the beautiful outdoors of the area. James was always ready to go fishing anytime, and if the weather was not cooperating, he would spend the time telling fishing and hunting stories with friends and family.

James is preceded in death by his parents, his brother and his wife. James is survived by his four children: Tina Schultz of Duluth, James (Darcey) Schultz Jr. of Livonia, MI, Rebecca (James) Rigdon of Two Harbors, and William (Nicole) Schultz of Two Harbors and seven grandchildren: Alina, Cody, Donovan, Rachel, David, Brianna, and Alivia.
