Obituary of Terrol Ellen Cousineau

Terrol Ellen Cousineau Beloved wife, sister, auntie, friend, mentor Terrol Ellen Cousineau, 75, passed peacefully at her home in Duluth, MN with her family by her side, Tuesday, January 23rd.

Terrol was born July 15, 1948 in International Falls, MN to Clarence and Rosanna Cousineau. She was the older sister to Bonnie Mooney. She lived there until she went to college at Bemidji State University, where she earned a BA in Physical Education. She went on later in life, to get her social worker degree at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Terrol made a living as a musician for many years. She was a fabulous guitarist and had a soulful voice. She loved to play blues music in particular. She traveled and played all over the country, as well as overseas, in her younger years. Later in life, Terrol and Jane, her bassist, played gigs for many years together in and around the Duluth area. Terrol worked for Fond du Lac Social Services before working for St. Louis County, where she served many years as a social worker for child protection, up until she retired in 2015. After she retired she continued to work part time as a Guardian Ad Litem. Terrol was a fierce advocate for children. She made a large impact on her community and changed many lives for the better. Terrol met Danell Stahlecker in 2011 and they had an instant connection. They married in 2015, a small intimate wedding on their back deck, with Danell's two daughters Carly and Andi Hanson, as witnesses. Terrol and Danell were each other’s greatest loves and spent their days enjoying being together. Terrol also loved listening to music but only on a quality sound system. She enjoyed camping up the North Shore and at their seasonal campsite, being on the water, hiking, traveling, dancing, playing cards, telling big stories, visiting family and friends, cooking, and sweets. Her spirituality was very important to her and involved spending as much time in nature that she could. She will be remembered as a strong, intuitive, kind, generous, talented ,feisty and independent woman with a great deal of wisdom and a keen sense of humor. Terrol is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rosanna Cousineau.
