Obituary of Barbara Rae Louis

Barbara Rae (“Toots” Howsen) Louis, 79, of Deer River, died Friday, January 12, in her home. She was born May 28, 1944 in Deer River to Helen (Chidester) and Ray Howsen.

Barb married Larry Louis September 1st, 1972. She spent her life taking care of her family and working on their cattle farm in Grand Rapids. Before retiring she worked at Blandin Nursery and Arrowhead Promotions. They moved to Comstock Court in Deer River after selling the farm.

She is survived by Special Friend Jim Roeschlein of Deer River, her daughter Frankie (Skelly) Greg Stoltz of Bovey, granddaughter Samantha Seeley of Bovey and Jackie and Les Dvorak of Fairdale, ND, grandsons Derak Mostoller, Langdon, ND, Denver (Olivia) Dvorak, Fairdale, ND, and great-granddaughters Amelia and Aubrey Mostoller of Langdon, Sister Marion (Mickey) and Francis Trudel, Richard (Dick) and Carole Howsen, all of Deer River, brother-in-law Gary Louis of Grand Rapids, brother-in-law Norman Winans of Fredericksburg, VA, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, her in-laws Rudy and Lou Louis, and sisters-in-law Karen Winans and Geri Louis.
