Obituary of James Francis Anderson

James Anderson sadly passed away on January 12, 2024 at the age of 94.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was loved dearly. He was devoted to his family. Spending time with them meant everything to him. 

James was born and raised in Duluth, MN. His parents were Walter and Helen Anderson.  He had one sibling, William.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.  He met the love of his life, Dorothy, in high school, and they were married for 71 years, until her death in August 2023.  James has now joined them all in heaven.

He graduated from Morgan Park High School.  He is a Veteran after serving his country in the Korean War.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UMD.  After college he went to work for St. Louis County.  He retired in 1991, after working there for 32 years.  His religion was very important to him as a lifelong Catholic. 

He is survived by his son Gary Anderson; daughter, Sheryl Haglin (Dave); son, Jon Anderson (Corinne); grandchildren, David Haglin, Jr. (Lorie), Robert Haglin, Angela Little (Bradley), Dylan Anderson (Mariah); great-grandchildren, Isabella Haglin, Edith Little, and Declan Little.

Per his request, the funeral will be a private family service.  A special thank you to the staff at Edgewood Vista and Caring Edge Hospice.
