Michael DuBé

Obituary of Michael Joseph DuBé

Michael Joseph DuBé, age 31, passed away unexpectedly on January 6th, 2024. Michael grew up in Hastings, MN, where he attended Hastings High School. Michael lived in Hastings, but spent much time at the family cabin in Turtle Lake, WI. He enjoyed a number of outdoor activities there, including fishing, hunting, cruising on the pontoon, and riding the 4-wheelers. He especially made many great memories hunting and fishing with his dad, brothers, cousins, and friends, at the cabin and elsewhere.

Michael had different roles and jobs throughout his life, but the one he loved the most was being a father to his daughter, Rayah Skye DuBé. Michael was an extremely loving and devoted father, never missing an opportunity to make Rayah feel special and cared for. Their bond was, and always will be, one of the strongest a dad and daughter could ever have.

Relationships were an important part of Michael’s life, and those with his family were central. Michael had deep love for his brothers, Sean and Cory, and his parents, Kelli and Dave, who supported Michael unfailingly throughout his life. Things always seemed complete when the DuBé family was all together.

Michael will be remembered most for his compassionate heart and soul. He had a gift for making those around him feel welcome, and he made people smile and laugh with ease. He will always be known as a loving father, son, and brother, as well as a fierce and loyal friend.

Michael is preceded in death by his cousins, Kellie Jo Melquist and Kevon Kelleher; aunt, Terrie DuBé; uncles, Rick Isle and Matt Ludke; grandfather, Daniel Melquist; and grandmother, Joann Ludke. He is survived by his daughter, Rayah DuBé; parents, Dave and Kelli DuBé; brothers, Sean (Kasey) and Cory DuBé; grandparents, Joann Melquist and D. Robert DuBé; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life for Michael will be held at The Journey Church (Hastings Art Center) in Hastings, MN on January, 27th from 1-4 pm, with a short memorial service at 3pm.
