Obituary of Susan Kay Marks
Susan “Sue” Kay Marks, 73, of Zimmerman, MN passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024 with family by her side. Sue was born February 7th, 1950 in Monticello to Margaret and Edward McMullen. Sue grew up in Big Lake and met her life-long best friend Karen in 1st grade. After high school, Sue lived in Minneapolis for a while working as a file clerk. She moved to Zimmerman and later married William “Bill” C Marks on May 25, 1972. Sue and Bill were in a band together and owned many small businesses together throughout the years including a ceramics business, video store and gift shop. After Bill passed, Sue went to college to become a Health Unit Coordinator and worked at Methodist Hospital until she retired. Sue enjoyed donating hats that she knitted and visiting with her friends and family. She also enjoyed calling bingo and playing cards with her friends in her apartment building. She had a fierce love for her family and was known as “M&M Nana” to her grandchildren. Sue is survived by her sons Scott (Amy) of Orange Park, FL; William E (Lisa) of Zimmerman; and Brian (Ashley) of Waverly; grandchildren Austin, Luke, Wilson, Jeffrey, Benjamin, Calder and Khloe; brother Robert (Judy) McMullen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; and brother Ronald McMullen. Visitation will be 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Memorial service on Saturday, February 17th at St John’s Lutheran Church 13045 Fremont Ave, Zimmerman, MN.
