Obituary of Thomas Glen Beadle

Thomas Glen Beadle passed away on December 28, 2023 at the age of 84.   He was a resident of Farmington, MN .   He was born on April 1, 1939 in Lafayette, LA.  He was the son of Clayton R. and Effie M. (Byrd) Beadle.   

Tom joined the Air Force after high school and this brought him to Willmar, MN.  While stationed there, he met Karin Nelson.  They were married on June 18, 1958 and later had 2 sons, Brian and Chris. They lived in Richfield for many years and Tom was a long time employee of Control Data. After retirement, he became a part time employee at Hiawatha Golf Course.  

Tom had a passion for golf that began as a caddy at Lafayette Municipal Golf Course.  He competed in many amateur events throughout his life.   He had a long list of accomplishments on the golf course.  He made a double eagle in competition and also made 5 holes in one. He won many tournaments as an individual and as a doubles team player.  Tom loved playing 24 man team events for Hiawatha Golf Club and with Rich Acres Golf Club. He stayed very active as a senior golfer and played in events all over the state for many years.  He spent the month of March in Texas, Alabama or California playing golf with his friends numerous times.

When Tom was not golfing, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies.   He also found it fun to compete in bowling and trap shooting leagues. As the son of a carpenter, he was good with his hands doing projects around the house.

Preceded in death by Father and Mother, Sisters Jean Judice, Norma Carriere. Brother: Clayton Beadle.   Survived by his wife of 65 years Karin Beadle.  Sons: Brian (Elizabeth) Beadle, Chris Beadle,  Grandchildren: Daniel Beadle, Ryan Beadle, Ashley (Charley) Delcambre, Matt Beadle.  Great Grandsons: Tommy and Brooks Delcambre.  Brother: John (Carol) Beadle, Sister: Ruth Crouchet.  

A celebration of life will take place Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM and service at 3:00 PM at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina.   7110 France Ave South, Edina MN.   Light lunch to follow service.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Minnesota Golf Association, First Tee Minnesota or a charity of your choice.
