Obituary of Nicholas Keith Peterson

In Loving Memory of

Nicholas Peterson

December 13, 1973 – December 26, 2023  Stillwater, MN Nicholas Peterson, age 50, of Stillwater, MN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 26, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves a legacy of exceptional generosity, humility and love that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Nick was born on December 13, 1973, and graduated from Stillwater High School in June 1992. In 1995, he met the love of his life, Karen, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Nick served as the vice president of labor at Inside Edge, where he was not only respected for his professional expertise but also deeply loved by colleagues and friends. When Nick wasn’t dedicating himself to his work, he was a devoted family man. He and Karen are blessed with five beautiful children: Jacob (23), Halle (22), Ashley (19), Katie (16), and Eric (12). Nick’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family as an ever-present figure in their lives offering guidance, love, and unwavering support. Beyond his family and career, Nick was a man of many talents. He was the handiest of men, a master gardener who made the best salsas and pickles. He loved making elaborate dishes as well as the good old recipes handed down in the family. We like to think of Nick as the perfect blend of Bob the Builder and Gordon Ramsay. His love for fishing and 4-wheeling added another layer to his adventurous spirit.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen, their five children: Jacob, Halle, Ashley, Katie, and Eric, his parents, Jan and Jeff, his sister Colleen (Joe) and niece Lexi and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In honoring Nick’s memory, the family invites friends and well-wishers to join them for a visitation on Thursday, January 4 from 1-3pm followed by a 3PM funeral service at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church: 9998 90th Street South, Cottage Grove.
