Lois Howard

Obituary of Lois Mae Howard

Lois passed away peacefully at NC Little Hospice after a long life as a homemaker in Richfield, MN.  She was born in St Paul to Leonard and Rose Johnson, followed by siblings Marlys (Weber), Janet (Wyss) and Howard, all deceased.  She is survived by Jack, her high school sweetheart and husband of 75 years; children Cathy Waldhauser (Stan), Carol Carlson (Casey), and John Howard (Kimberley); grandchildren Jacqui, Andrew, Megan and Jeff; and eight great-grandchildren.  Lois set aside early career aspirations to be a loving wife, mother, and caretaker of extended family and friends.  She kept a ‘white glove’ house and enjoyed feeding her family, sewing, shopping, playing the piano, dancing, bridge, golf, the North Shore, and Indian Rocks Beach Florida.  She was generous, thoughtful, and independent to the end.

A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, January 20, from 2:00 to 5:00 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave S in Edina, 952-924-4100.  Bring a memory to share or post at cremationsocietyofmn.com.  Memorial gifts may be directed to NC Little Hospice of MN or a cause of your choosing, especially one that helps children.
