Obituary of Barbara Jean Poole

Barbara Jean Poole, 98, passed away December 8, 2023 at Moose Lake Village, Moose Lake, MN.

Barb was born August 28, 1925 in Anoka, MN to Mildred and Gerald Wallick. She was the second oldest of eight children. She attended Anoka High School, graduating 1943. It was at the Anoka Electric Cooperative where she met the love of her life Ned (Edward Poole). They married, moving to Brainerd then later to Aitkin, MN. After their retirement, Barb and Ned traveled in their RV for a few years eventually settling in Tucson, AZ. After a few years they returned to Minnesota to be closer to their children and their families.

Barb considered herself lucky to have many close friends. She enjoyed writing letters and kept in contact with a number of people for decades. She also graced her family and friends with amazing needle work projects, especially embroidery. Her family pups brought her great joy and visa versa. They were very happily spoiled. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and considered them all a blessing.

Barb’s faith remained a welcome constant in her life. She was active in her church. St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Moose Lake held a special place in her heart. She very much valued the friendships she shared with her congregation.

She is survived by children and grandchildren Pam and Jerry Zimmerman (Mike and Sara), Nancy and Joe Rhinhart (Jim and Jeanne, Dan and Jessica, Amie and Tim Sedesky), Tom and Barbara Poole (Kelly and Art Driscoll, Tracy and Tom Heyroth, Holly and John Poole). Twenty two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild brought her pure joy. She is also survived by brothers Tom Wallick (MN) and Edward (Ward) Wallick (WY).

She was anticipating meeting her six siblings, parents, her husband Ned and daughter Lynn in her next world.

Her Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2024. If you wish to give a memorial, please consider sending to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 840, Moose Lake, MN 55767.
