Obituary of Linda Leigh Banitt
Linda Leigh (Miller) Banitt age 71, formally of Zumbrota, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Elysian Dementia Care Center in Lake City, Minnesota. The burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. There will be no funeral service per Linda’s request.
Linda was born on December 16, 1951 in Preston, Minnesota to Earl and Harriet (Howe) Miller. She was raised in the town of Spring Valley, Minnesota where she graduated from high school in 1970, then continued her education with LPN degree. One evening Linda was invited to a roller rink for a dance, where she met Bradley. Bradley and Linda were married on September 30, 1972 at Grace Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue. Bradley and Linda were dairy farmers in the Zumbrota area until 1995, however Linda had worked several jobs through the years. She also taught Sunday School at St Johns Lutheran Church in Mazeppa. Became a member at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Zumbrota in 1997.In 2012 her main focused was taking care of Bradley as he became ill. Linda enjoyed knitting, spending time with family, shopping…especially for shoes, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her children, Jody (Helen) Banitt of Norfolk, VA, Jamie (Josie) Banitt of Mazeppa, Jolene (Christopher) Alms of Red Wing; grandchildren, Andrew and Brianna Banitt, Alexander and Mia Banitt, Colton and Logan Alms; great granddaughter Baelynn Banitt; mother in law Delila Heydmann of Zumbrota, many in-laws, neices and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Bradley Banitt, parents Earl and Harriet Miller, sister Marilyn Olson, father-in-law Harley Banitt.
