Obituary of Michael Bane
Michael (Mike) James Bane passed away peacefully at his home in Andover, surrounded by his family on Sunday November 26th , 2023
At age 70, after a 7-year battle with Alzheimer’s his body succumbed to this disease.
Born May 31st, 1953, In Minneapolis MN, he was the loving son of C. Gordon and Florence Mary (West) Bane
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Pat and Gordy, sister Jean Ruona, survived by his loving wife Laurie, stepdaughter Tiffany O’Malley (Bill), Grandchildren Landon and Lydia, siblings Dan (Patti), Julie (Carter Staaf), and Tammy plus many nieces and nephews.
Mike graduated from Richfield High School in 1971. He attended Normandale Junior College before attending the University of Minnesota earning his bachelor's degree. Mike chose a career in Real Estate where he was highly regarded by clients and co-workers, receiving many accomplishment awards throughout his 35-year career.
Above all his worldly accomplishments, Mike’s Christian faith was what mattered most. He felt called to support the Gideon Ministry. Mike spoke in churches throughout north Minneapolis raising money to purchase Gideon Bibles. His travel abroad reached those who otherwise may never have received a copy of God's Word.
Mike was a very proud grandfather, pouring his life into these children, teaching them valuable lessons that will carry them through their lives.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Laurie of 23 years of marriage, his precious grandchildren and all of our families and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 2pm with a visitation starting at 1:30pm at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445
