Obituary of Earl C. Jahr

Earl C. Jahr, 75, of Duluth, Minn. passed away June 9, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital Hospice surrounded by his family. Earl was born in Duluth May 25, 1941 to Melvin and Ione Jahr. He married the love of his life Judith Cashin on Aug. 18, 1962; she preceded him in death on March 21, 2016. He worked many years in the construction trades and retired in January 2001. He was member of the Rice Lake Community Club for many years and also retired from the Rice Lake Volunteer Fire Dept after 30 years. Earl joined the Laborers' International Union in 1965. He received his gold card after 50 years of service with the union. Earl enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, coffee with the guys at Charlstrom's Bait Shop, and being with family and grandchildren. Earl is preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Milt and Chuck Sweeny; and brother-in-law Ray Pucuski. Survivors include his children Craig and Julie (Jeff) Wierimaa; grandsons Corey (Kaili), and Zackary, USMC; great-granddaughter Aubrey; baby Willow; sister Barb Pucuski; sister-in-law Patricia (Roy) Cashin Line; and many nieces and nephews who were so loved.
