Obituary of Donald Johnson

 

Donald Johnson, 88, of Chanhassen, MN passed

away peacefully on November 15, 2023.

He is survived by wife Barbara, daughters Betsy

and Amy (Bob), son Kirk, 7 grand-children, 2 great

grand-children, brother Jerry (Sandy) and sister

Joanne.  Don grew up in Edina, MN and was a

resident of Eden Prairie for over 50 years. 

 

He graduated from Breck School and St. Olaf College. 

He built a successful career in advertising, marketing

and communications.  Over the years he volunteered

in civic and church projects, including leading a Bible

Study Fellowship discussion group. In his free time, he

enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading, writing, and listening

to jazz.  Another passion was as a sculptor, working with

bronze under the guidance of artist, Nick Legeros.

 

 A memorial service will be held at Mt. Olivet Lutheran

Church (west campus), 7200 Rolling Acres Road, Victoria,

MN.  Visitation is at 1:00, Service at 2:00. 

 

We are very thankful to Allina Hospice and St. Gertrude’s

Transitional Care Unit for the care and comfort they provided

Don and our family during his stay.  In lieu of flowers, memorials

may be given to either of these organizations.
