Obituary of Janice Marie Adams
With the most broken and grief filled heart, I need to share the news of my mother’s passing. Janice Adams of Lakeville passed away on November 10, 2023 and was 88 years old.
There are those life moments that you wish you could simply not surrender to and by not doing so they would be halted, but it wasn’t my moment, it was my mom’s and she was ready to surrender. She had suffered from Alzheimer’s for the past three years and it robbed her of the person she had been for the previous 85 years of her life.
She was a person who woke up each day happy and ready to enjoy another day, every-single-day. She was a voracious reader and attributed her love of reading to her mom, who signed her up for the Book of the Month Club when she was a young girl. She loved warm, sunny days and swimming, and traveling, and good food and good wine, and days filled with shopping and lunch at fancy restaurants, and animals-oh how she loved her Cassidy, and being Irish-she was 100% Irish, but mostly she loved time with family and friends-she cherished that above all. You might look at her 88 year old body and not even consider her talents in her younger years, but she was an amazingly beautiful swimmer and without a doubt influenced me to develop a lifelong love of swimming too. She had a generous heart and it truly brought her joy to help others in any way that she could. She was an amazing mom, grandmother and woman. I am so very thankful for her love, support and guidance throughout my entire life.
I know I am the woman I am today because of her. I love her so much and I will do my best to make her proud until the day that I take my last breath.
Janice is survived by her children James L. Madison and Leslie M. Madison (Diane). Grandchildren Benjamin Madison and Samuel Madison.
