Obituary of Charlotte Helen Zimmerman

Charlotte Zimmerman, 91, of Minneapolis, passed away at Regions Hospital on November 13, 2023 after complications from a fall. Charlotte grew up in the hardworking countryside of Holden, Maine, on her grandfather’s 1,500 acre farm, where she was raised by her grandparents. She lived there until meeting her husband, Thomas Zimmerman, at a dance while he was stationed in Maine in the Air Force.  Charlotte married Tom in 1952, they had two children, and were married until his passing in 1987.  Independent since that time, Charlotte always had a love and zest for life.  She loved dancing, fine dining, and rarely stayed home.  She was always on the go and out and about doing something.  Probably the sweetest, most naïve little person you could ever meet, Charlotte was a devoted and loving mother, she loved her family and constantly worried about all of her loved ones.  Stubborn to a fault, quiet, sweet, and loving – she was a true blessing to have as a family member or friend. 

She is survived by her son, Thomas Zimmerman, Daughter Ann (John) Skeie; Grandchildren, Rachael (TJ), Kayla (Christian), and Joel; and two great grandchildren, along with many in-laws and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Zimmerman, and her sister, Lois Cantrell.

Private interment to be determined at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
