Obituary of Cora L. Jones

Cora L. Jones, 83, of Eveleth, Minn., formerly of Duluth, Minn., passed away peacefully Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Hayward, Wis. She was born March 27, 1933 in Jeffersonville, Ind. to Archie and Mary Worrall. On Nov. 14, 1953, Cora married David Jones, whom she met while he was in the service, and they later moved to Duluth. Cora worked as a secretary in the E.R. at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth. After moving to Eveleth, she worked for St. Louis County in Virginia. She was a member of the Slovenian Women's Club at St. Elizabeth's Church, Duluth, President of Catholic Daughters at Resurrection Catholic Church, Eveleth, and very active in the Seniors Club in Fayal Township. Cora was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Ruiz. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, David; four children, Michael of Chisholm, Minn., Karen (Gary) Petrich of Hayward., Donald (Lynn) of Duluth, and Steven of Virginia, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Patton, of Indiana; and many other relatives and friends.
