Obituary of Beth R. Jarvis

Beth R. Jarvis, 64, of Crystal, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, June 16. Beth was born on April 22, 1952 to Art and Rose Jarvis of Moose Lake, MN. A 1970 graduate of Barnum High School, Beth earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota. Beth combined her writing talents with her love of gardening and earned a Master’s degree in Horticulture in 1992. Beth was employed by the University of Minnesota Extension Service as a Project Coordinator where she also trained Master Gardeners. Beth was very proud of her Finnish heritage and was serving as a graphic designer for the Finnish American Cultural Activities newsletter at the time of her death. Beth was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and genealogy. Beth will be deeply missed by her brother Sid (Deb) of Duluth, nephew Ben (Kirstin) of Stillwater, niece Rebecca (Greg Lohman) of Minneapolis, nephew Daniel of Duluth, and numerous family and friends. Celebration of Life: 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, July 1, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, MN ( 763-560-3100 ). A private burial will take place at the West Branch Cemetery, Kettle River, later this summer.
