Obituary of Allen E. Olson

Olson, Allen E. of Minneapolis. Born November 25, 1953 and died November 6, 2023. Survived by partner Alan MacFarlane and sister Margaret. Preceded in death by his parents Ed and Emily Olson as well as his Godparents Pearl and Gale Shirley. Allen grew up in the Macalester Groveland area of Saint Paul and attended Pilgrim Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Groveland Park, Ramsey Jr. High and Highland Sr. High. He attended Saint Paul College and took accounting classes.  His first job was at Strauss Skates and Bicycles but the majority of his career was at Health Partners.

Allen enjoyed walking with the Saint Paul Hiking Club. He joined the Twin Cities Tall Club (TCTC) and went to many weekend meets around the country. He liked to vacation somewhere warm in late winter so that he didn’t have to wear socks when he got back to Minnesota. Alan was his constant companion and love of his life for 27 years. He was a gregarious guy and had many friends.

His death was sudden and is mourned by friends and family.
