Obituary of Doris M. Randall
Doris M. Randall, 94, passed away peacefully Friday, June 17, 2016, in Golden Oaks Assisted Living, Hermantown after a long struggle with Parkinsons Disease.
She was born April 3, 1922 in Duluth to William and Alice Maghan.
Doris grew up in Lester Park and graduated from Central High School.
Doris retired from AT&T after many years of service, as a telephone operator.
She was a very loving, kind and caring mother of five, in whom she took pride along with making a warm, safe and loving home for them.
Due to her kindness, she had many close friends with whom she enjoyed traveling and having them over for lunch and card games. Doris enjoyed keeping a clean house, baking, doing the polka and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a strong woman and of strong character.
Doris was preceded in death by her daughters, Susan Slabodnik and Mary Hyvonen; her parents; sister, Althea Bonfield; brothers, Donald Maghan and Neil Maghan; former husband and friend, Archie Randall, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Willard) Silver, Alice Pavelich and Archie "Butch" Randall III all of Duluth; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Audrey) Maghan of California; many extended family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Oaks, Hermantown and Essentia Hospice for the wonderful care and comfort they provided.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 11 a.m. until the 12 Noon funeral service Thursday, June 23, in First Memorial Chapel, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, 218-624-5200. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
