Obituary of John P. Kneiszler
John P. Kneiszler passed away on October 25, 2023, at home in Mora, Minnesota with his wife and daughters by his side. He was 80 years old.
John was born on January 8, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Samuel and Hannah Kneiszler. He was the second of six children. He graduated from the Minneapolis Vocational High School where he studied cabinet making.
John met Betty Walters at Fremont Tabernacle in Minneapolis, Minnesota when they were 14 years old. They married at Fremont in 1961. They moved to Mora in 1969 where they raised their two girls.
John was employed as a cabinet maker for 20 years and then joined his brother Paul’s construction company, Kneiszler Construction, where he worked until he retired.
John served as a church deacon for over 30 years. He was active in the church sound system ministry and multiple building projects. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and road trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Diane Buchta, and brother-in-law Carl Norris.
He is survived by Betty, his wife of 61 years, daughters Wendy and Heather, grandchildren Alyssa (Brian), Anthony, and Katie; siblings David (Trudie) Kneiszler, Judy Norris, Paul (Carlotta) Kneiszler, Gail (Bob) Spencer, brother-in-law Rich Buchta; sister-in-law Barbara Masters, and many nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Friendship Assembly of God in Braham, Minnesota, on Friday, November 3, 2023. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with the service starting at 2:00 p.m. Friendship Assembly of God is located at: 210 Central Drive W, Braham, MN 55006.
