Obituary of Paul Tahtinen

Paul Tahtinen, 94, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 in his residence. Paul was born to John and Hilya Tahtinen on Aug. 4, 1921 in Duluth. He married Lois Rolfson in 1945, and were together until her death in 1998. Paul was an accountant for his entire professional career. He retired from Clyde Iron Works in 1984. Paul thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family at the family cabin on Whiteface Reservoir, and being in charge of deer camp with his sons and their friends. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; and son, David; his parents; brothers, Pal, Martin and Don; sisters, Velma and Irya; and daughter-in-law, Janice Tahtinen. He is survived by sons, Wayne (Carol) and Larry (Lori Dinnetz); grandchldren, Jennifer Tahtinen (Matt), Ryan Tahtinen (Melissa), Tara Nechkash (Cory); and great-grandchildren, Brooks Nechkash, Andrea Hedding, Trevyn Tahtinen and Landon Middleton and seven nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Tim and Bobbi Jo Majchrzak for the wonderful care they provided at Hermantown Valley Elder Care. Private graveside celebration of life will be held.
