Obituary of Donald Edward Forseth

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Don Forseth. Don lost his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on October 19, 2023. He is reunited with his wife Nancy of 56 years, and they are again dancing to music from the 50’s.

Don was born to gentle Norwegians, Inga and Edward Forseth on November 13, 1930 in St. James, MN and he lived there until he joined the Marines.

Don was a state legislator, a teacher, and a real estate agent. Mostly, he was a devoted and loving husband (widow), father of three, grandfather of nine, and a great-grandfather of five.

Don enjoyed laughing, playing practical jokes on Nancy, he enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing, and he was an athlete throughout his life. Even with Alzheimer’s he had a contagious smile, a great laugh, and a twinkle in his eye.

The family is eternally grateful to the staff at the Mpls. VA, especially those on 19- 3. The love and care they showed for Don was the same love that one would show their own family member, thank you so much.

The family will bury Don at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Friday, December 1 at 1:45 with a visitation following at the Cremation Society of MN in Edina from 3-5PM.
