Obituary of Helen Kathryn Wing

Helen Kathryn Wing (nee: Martin), of Eagan MN passed away unexpectedly October 16, 2023. Helen was born November 16, 1940 in Minneapolis MN to Joseph and Kathryn Wing. She was recently preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Allen Wing. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sons Kelly (Nancy) of Virginia and Timothy (Darci) of Blaine, MN and seven grandchildren. Helen is also survived by several loving sisters, Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Judy, and Delores.

Helen graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1958. After high school she worked for the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation board and competed in the Miss Fridley Pageant. Ken and Helen were later married on May 2, 1964 at the Linden Hills Congregational Church in Minneapolis, MN. Helen was always a lively, positive woman who loved to laugh. She enjoyed the company of everyone and gave so much to them in many ways.  In her life she played softball and volleyball, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading Agatha Christie novels, and engaging in practical jokes to make people laugh. At her death she requested that the song "Walking on Sunshine" be played to raise everyone's spirits.

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 6th and noon at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 8630 Xerxes Ave South; Bloomington, MN, officiated by Rev. Jennifer Jaimez Pastor.
