Obituary of Peter E Stenoien
Peter Erland Stenoien, 56, of Eden Prairie, passed away on September 27, 2023 after giving everything he had fighting cancer.
Peter was born on April 28, 1967 in Minneapolis, MN. After graduating from Edina High School, he went on to study music and business at Luther College. Peter married his college sweetheart Kirsten Reigle in September 1990. For over 30 years, Peter worked at Productivity Inc., a CNC machine tool distributor based in the twin cities.
Peter enjoyed playing the trumpet, skiing (downhill and cross country), biking, traveling, fishing, hiking, and meals with his family. He appreciated thoughtful conversations and thinking deeply about faith, life, and how things worked. He said his knowledge was a mile wide and an inch deep—we think it was closer to two miles wide and a foot deep. If he did not know something, he researched and figured it out. We had to be careful asking him questions because the response was oftentimes more than we were looking for. Peter was a wonderful and faithful husband, son, father, and friend. He encouraged everyone to work hard, be calm, be kind, and ask questions.
Peter was preceded in death by his mother Eleanor Stenoien. Peter is survived by his wife Kirsten; children Mitchell (Meredith) and Hannah; father Daniel; siblings Anita (Gary) and Mark (Ann); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on October 3rd at 10 am followed by an 11 am service and luncheon.
