Marie Lind

Obituary of Marie Leona Lind

Marie Lind of Blaine, Minnesota passed away peacefully at 84 years of age, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Crestview Senior Living in Blaine, Minnesota.

At her request, no services will be held.

Marie was born on April 22, 1939 in Rice, Minnesota, the daughter of Paul and Ottilia (Philippi) Gottwalt.

Marie is preceded in death by both of her parents and siblings Peter, Pauline, James, Leo, Leander, Evelyn, Rita, Laura, Elmer, Dave, Irene and Eileen.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Lind of Blaine, son David Lind along with David’s wife, Sherri of Morrison, Colorado and their three daughters, (Marie’s granddaughters), Samantha Haas (Thomas), Emily Stanley (T.J.), Sydney Burrow (Grayson), along with Marie’s Great Grandchildren, Cole and Savannah Stanley and Oaklyn Haas.

Marie taught her granddaughters how to sew, how to find good garage sales, how to properly wash their faces till they were squeaky clean, and how to make homemade strawberry jelly with fresh picked strawberries.

Marie worked all her life, finally retiring at age 80; she always said “I’d be bored if I stopped working”!

Marie truly loved hearing from her granddaughters. She loved taking care of her yard and especially loved gardening, cooking and baking, (many times giving away a lot of her homemade meals and baked goods). Marie loved dogs; Lizzie and Madi were her treasured companions. She also had a love for country music, listening and watching the Country Countdown USA every Sunday.

Marie was one of the most independent, hardest workers, and we were proud to be her family. Marie’s love for her family, her smile with her infectious giggle, and her crystal blue eyes will be missed by all of us dearly.

As Marie would often say; “Be Good”
