Obituary of Patricia Ann McGuire

Patricia, age 65, passed away in her home on September 2, 2023.

Preceded in death by parents John and Ida Mae Dolny.

Survived by children Sheryl (Trent) Paine, Robert Blaschka and Jennifer Blaschka; grandchildren Serena Blaschka, Hailey Blaschka, Allison Paine, Nathan Paine and Noah Paine; sibling Keith (Tony) Dolny.

Patricia was raised in St. Paul. She graduated from Sibley High School where she played the clarinet in the marching band and excelled in academics. 

Patti obtained her RN degree at Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights. She worked in a vast amount of nursing roles from hospitals to nursing homes, and ended her nursing career as the Director of Nursing at Mission Farms Nursing Home. At the time of death, she worked for the Thymes/Curio as their Operations Specialist.

Patti's interests included reading, animals, forensic science, and watching movies. She was an avid football fan. Everyone knew if there was an NFL game on, she would be watching. The Raiders were her team, but she would cheer for the Vikings as long as they weren't playing the Raiders. She enjoyed family gatherings, being with friends, and helping others. Patti's passion in life was being with-  and spoiling her five grandchildren. 

Patti's love and kindness knew no bounds. Her intellect and strength inspired her children to overcome their own obstacles laid out so carefully by life. Acceptance, love, and compassion were pillars she built her life upon. Her loss will be felt by many.

Memorial Service Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 12:00 PM, Visitation 11:00 to 12:00 PM, at Bloomington Event Center, 1114 American Blvd, W, Bloomington, MN 55420. Luncheon to follow service. Private family burial to follow at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.
